Hey handsome and beautiful!, you
should try keep up smiling as it suits you.I’d go for a serial job hunt one of the
days and was lucky enough to see one with a very small undisclosed amount of
salary. Would love to tell you but it is
damn so small. I’d drop that job because there wasn’t any money left after
paying my transport fare to the office.
You know being desperate is actually
harmful, months by I saw another with a salary of 600k, a house to occupy, a driver.
Huh! Starting from the bottom now we here! It was so cool and sounds tempting
right? So I began the processes required in securing the job and I was able to
get the job and also bought my first suv…lol...*lies*. It was all a scam. If you are in the same shoes as me them let’s
read a warming message by Akande Olutobi, a business development personnel,
career coach enthusiast, it goes;
“I accepted a 35k job offer. The
money couldn’t even cover my transport
expenses (similar to my story), my
friends laughed at me for
accepting such offer after building a strong
portfolio for myself. I didn’t
let it discourage me, I did accept the job with
the whole of my heart.
Guess what, I got a bigger offer in less than 3 months
from then
and it has always continued that progression. Most of them see me
now
as their baba as I’ve helped quite a number get jobs while some
are still job
hunting or managing menial jobs they once rejected. Here
is the lesson, don’t
sit there waiting for a “Dream job”, it might not
come by truth be told. Accept
that small opportunity and build
yourself a strong resume, progress sometimes
is slow. There is no
crime in starting small! If you are diligent with the
small jobs,
bigger opportunities will chase you soon enough".
I now regret not accepting the
former. Dear youth moments readers, what have your experiences been on job
hunting? Please do leave a comment.
